Did you always want to know if your cinema projector provides the perfect output of light so that your visitors can enjoy every movie to the fullest? Do you know if you are using the right lamp? Is your projector adjusted properly? Is your lamp in best order? USHIO, the world market leader of Cinema bulbs, supports you in ensuring the best quality in your auditoriums. Get to know it – fast and without using knotty techniques.

The USHIO Cinema Screen Analyzer is a unique and easy-to-use application that allows cinema operators to measure and analyze the lighting of their cinema screen all by themselves – just with the help of their smartphone. It is designed for smartphones running the Apple or Android operating system.
By saving the results you can track the output of individual lamps during lifetime and adjust the settings to ensure the best light at all time.

The application can be used for all kinds of cinema screens – the USHIO Screen Analyzer dissects the brightness in 45 separate fields in fL, shows the “hot spot” and the luminance related to DCI-norm (for Android systems the accurateness can differ up to 10% compared to professional camera measurement systems, for Apple systems up to 25% in particular cases). It is also supporting all kinds of current projectors by various manufacturers such as Barco, Christie, NEC, Sony and others.

To use the application, just download it, open it and follow the instructions to measure your screen in 10 simple steps. Its handling is easy and visceral: Constructed like a questionnaire, the user is guided through ten steps to receive a valid measuring about the performance of his/her cinema screen in the end. The ten steps include:

1) Cinema characteristics: digital or analogue
2) Cinema characteristics: 2D or 3D
3) Screen dimensions
4) Projector model
5) Serial number and lamp type
6) Projector performance
7) Lamp lifetime
8) Starting the projector
9) Centering of the screen
10) Measuring

At the end of this process, the user gets to see the lumination (declaration in foot-Lambert, fL) on the different parts of his cinema screen (reaching from low light to high light related to the DCI conformity). He/she can directly send the measuring results to USHIO.
